North Beach, San FranciscoThe apartment sits on top of Telegraph Hill at eye level with the Transamerica building. Tall, thin pivoting panels of stainless steel, California walnut, and painted wood introduce light into the rear rooms. The kitchen cabinets and mechanical expanding table are made of African Zebrawood. A five foot sculptural lamp of fiberglass (shaped from a surfboard blank) and blown glass globes hangs from the 17 foot ceiling.
